Prep Volleyball Awards Roxanne with "Highest Honorable Mention" of freshman players playing Varsity Prep volleyball. She is one of only two players in the state to receive the honor. See article below from Prep Volleyball:
Roxanne Lake, 5-7 Setter, Hamilton (Chandler, Arizona) – Lake had some big shoes to fill after Hamilton lost one of the top setters in the state to graduation, but she stepped right in and led her team to a 33-9 record in 2011, including a third-place finish out of 65 teams at the Nike Tournament of Champions. “You would never know Roxanne is a freshman,” coach Sharon Vanis said. “She stepped onto a court with three Division I signees and ran the offense the way a senior would run it. We were successful this year because Roxy was able to fill some big shoes.” Lake averaged better than nine assists per game in 96 games
Aspire and ASU women's volleyball team host a clinic for Special Olympics Arizona organized by Teresa Scobee. Additional clinics are planned and Aspire will, once again, be the home of one or more Special Olympics teams that will represent Arizona at the USA Volleyball Nationals this summer.
